This three-session course will give those who attend a basic feel for thinking and asking questions philosophically, in addition to exploring important questions related to religion.  The "Six Big Questions" to be explored will be: 1) What is "religion"? 2) Does God exist? 3) The problem of evil; 4) Is Christianity an extension of Judaism, or is it a qualitatively new development? 5) Comparative religion: Judaism, Christianity, and Buddhism; 6) The future of religion in a predominantly secular society.

The aim is to explore ideas, and raise philosophical questions, not advance an agenda with regard to any particular religion or worldview. The instructor, Bill Martin, taught philosophy at DePaul University in Chicago for twenty-eight years, and is now professor emeritus; his Ph.D. is from the University of Kansas (1990).
