Queen Alexandrina Victoria was the Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain, Ireland, and eventually the Empress of India until her death in 1901. Queen Victoria presided over a time of industrial expansion, educational advances, the abolition of slavery and workers; welfare; as well as the expansion of the British Empire.Mrs. Marie Johnson will give a presentation of the difficult and complicated life of Queen Victoria had with her mother and nine children and how it influenced her reign.
 

Mrs. Marie D. Johnson is a local historian and graduate of Bethany College, Lindsborg, Kansas, 2009. Marie is the 1 st place winner of the 2016 Kansas Association of Historians for the best scholarly paper for an undergraduate and 3rd place winner for 2016 Best of KWU for her thesis “The Election of Robert C. Caldwel, Salina’s first African American Mayor”.
