Communicating Across Generations

Join us for lunch as we learn about making connections across age groups with Dr. Jordan Atkinson of the University of Kansas School of Professional Studies.

In today’s multi-generational workplace, effective communication is key to collaboration, productivity, and team cohesion. Join Dr. Jordan Atkinson for this live virtual visit.  The workshop will help you:

  • Understand how generational, organizational, and life stage factors influence communication.
  • Recognize and address common stereotypes and microaggressions.
  • Explore how bias shapes interactions and impacts workplace culture.
  • Apply proven communication models to reduce generational tension.
  • Learn practical strategies to foster inclusive, resilient, and connected teams.

A $5.00 fee is required to cover a portion of lunch costs.

Dr. Jordan Atkinson is a Professor of the Practice at the University of Kansas, where he directs Organizational Communication and Professional Studies programs, teaches in the graduate program, and publishes widely on instructional and organizational communication. He is President of the Eastern Communication Association, serves on multiple editorial boards and university committees, and previously taught as a tenured professor at Missouri Western State University after earning his Ph.D. in Communication Studies from West Virginia University.
