This is a one-hour workshop on writing fiction in the mystery genre. Participants will learn:
- Elements, structure, and terminology of a mystery novel.
- How to create suspects, settings, and sleuths.
- The process for writing a manuscript and acquiring a publisher.
The instructor will also hold a question and answer session, plus a book signing at the end.
Steven J. Kolbe is a mystery writer and English teacher who resides in Southwest Kansas. He studied creative writing (BA) and literature (MA) at Kansas State University. His debut novel, How Everything Turns Away, focuses on a bi-polar FBI agent as he investigates an attack at a posh private school. The sequel, Rogue the Durum, is a locked-room mystery with a missing-person subplot. It is forthcoming from The Wild Rose Press.
