Program Description

Event Details

Challenge your brain this summer by transforming a one-dollar bill into a work of art. Learn to fold crisp one-dollar bills into fun shapes. You can keep the fancy folded money or give it away. A dollar folded into a “bowtie” makes a great Father’s Day gift! Moms love to receive money hearts any time. Or tip your waiter with folded money.

Volunteer Instructor Linda Smittle has given folded money as gifts or tips for over a decade. As a former teacher and Peace Corps Volunteer, she has taught children and adults basic origami techniques and watched them create fun designs.

Children must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required one week prior to the start of the event, space is limited to 10 participants to accommodate social distancing, please register in groups of 2-4, and plan to wear your mask during the entire class. This in-person event is subject to change to virtual format via Zoom pending health and safety issues as determined by the library.
